The list of the eight facing phone hacking charges and the details of the charges they face.

AGE: 44
POSITION: He succeeded Ms Brooks as editor of News of the World in 2003, before resigning in 2007 when the royal editor, Clive Goodman, was convicted of phone hacking.
He became the Conservatives’ chief spin doctor, following David Cameron into government in 2010.
CHARGES: Conspiring to intercept communications without lawful authority, from 3 October, 2000, to
9 August, 2006.
The communications are the voicemail messages of well-known people and/or those associated with them. There is a schedule containing the names of more than 600 people whom the prosecution will say are the victims of this offence.
He faces four additional charges, of conspiracy unlawfully to intercept communications relating to Milly Dowler, David Blunkett, Charles Clarke and George Best’s son Calum.

POSITION: Former News of the World head of news.
THE CHARGES: Conspiring to intercept communications without lawful authority, from 3 October, 2000, to 9 August, 2006. The communications are the voicemail messages of more than 600 people.He also faces 11 charges relating to the following victims or groups of victims: David Blunkett, Charles Clarke, Jude Law, Sadie Frost and Sienna Miller, Mark Oaten, Wayne Rooney, Calum Best, Tessa Jowell and David Mills, John Prescott, Professor John Tulloch, Frederick Windsor, Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills.
NEVILLE THURLBECK
AGE: 50
POSITION: Former NOTW chief reporter, allegedly intended recipient of “For Neville” e-mail, which claims to contain evidence of hacking.
CHARGES: The group charge, faced by all former NOTW staff, of conspiring to intercept communications without lawful authority, from 3 October, 2000, to 9 August, 2006. He faces seven further charges of conspiracy intercept communications relating to Milly Dowler, Sven-Goran Eriksson, David Blunkett, Charles Clarke, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Mark Oaten, Tessa Jowell and David Mills.
STUART KUTTNER
AGE: 71
POSITION: Former managing editor at NOTW
CHARGES: As well as group charge, he faces two charges relating to voicemails of Milly Dowler and David Blunkett.
GREG MISKIW
AGE: 61
POSITION: Former news editor at NOTW.
CHARGES: As well as group charge, he faces nine further charges relating to voicemails of Milly Dowler, Sven-Goran Eriksson, Abigail Titmuss and John Leslie, Andrew Gilchrist, David Blunkett, Delia Smith, Charles Clarke, Jude Law, Sadie Frost and Sienna Miller, and Wayne Rooney.

AGE: 41
POSITION: Private investigator
CHARGES: He does not face group charge relating to 3 October, 2000, to 9 August, 2006. He does face Milly Dowler, Andrew Gilchrist, Delia Smith and Charles Clarke charges.

AGE: 56
POSITION: Ex-NOTW reporter
CHARGES: Group charge and seven relating to David Blunkett, Charles Clarke, Jude Law, Sadie Frost and Sienna Miller, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Wayne Rooney, John Prescott, Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills.
REBEKAH BROOKS
AGE: 44
POSITION: She became the youngest editor of a national newspaper when she took over at the helm of NOTW in 2000. After moving on to edit the Sun, she became chief executive of News International until she resigned last year
