Over 1,000 at soldier's tribute
MORE than 1,000 mourners gathered to pay tribute yesterday to gunner killed in an explosion in Afghanistan. Senior Aircraftman Luke Southgate, 20, of Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, died on 24 February while on patrol near Kandahar airfield. He was remembered at a funeral service in the town.
"He was exceptionally talented," said Squadron Leader Mike Dewar. "I'm sure he would have gone on to achieve great things."
