Not a fridge too far for racing granddad

A SUPERFIT grandfather finished his 30th consecutive half-marathon with a fridge strapped to his back yesterday, and was met by his childhood hero Brendan Foster at the end of the Great North Run.

Tony Phoenix-Morrison, 48, was cheered every step of the way as he hauled the 40kg fridge round the Newcastle to South Shields route for the 30th time in as many days.
