New detective set for Midsomer Murders
LONG-SERVING detective Tom Barnaby will be replaced by his cousin in ITV's Midsomer Murders as actor John Nettles steps down from the show, it was announced yesterday.
Nettles is leaving the show after 13 years and more than 80 episodes as his character retires. The role will now go to cousin DCI John Barnaby, played by Neil Dudgeon, whose past roles include Life Of Riley and Common As Muck.
