New royal role for actor McAvoy

James McAvoy, the star of The Last King Of Scotland, is taking on the role of the country’s most famous theatrical monarch after announcing he will appear in a new production of Macbeth.

The award-winning actor, famous for roles in films such as X-Men and Atonement, will play the title character of Shakespeare’s Scottish play on stage at the Trafalgar Studios, in central London, next year.
