Nearly 1 in 3 women delay motherhood

Almost one in three women have delayed motherhood for the sake of their career, according to a survey.

Three quarters of women in their 20s and 30s polled by a Marie Claire survey said their work is either very important 
or the single most important thing in their lives.

Trish Halpin, editor-in-chief of Marie Claire, said: “The remarkable ambition of these young women, combined 
with the pressure they feel to pay off student debts, save enough for a home and climb the career ladder before they have a baby, is why they are so determined to progress their professional lives.”
