Morrisons salads in salmonella alert

MORRISONS yesterday recalled four own-brand salads due to a salmonella scare.

It is the second time in less than two months that the supermarket chain has pulled salad due to contamination being revealed by routine tests.

Yesterday's recall affects four of its pre-packed salads which Morrisons is advising customers not to eat.

The Food Standards Agency said in a statement: "Morrisons has recalled four of its own-brand pre-packed salads because salmonella has been found during routine testing."

The recalled products are: bistro-style salad twin pack, 110g; bistro-style salad, 185g; all with use-by dates of June 14.

Morrisons' cheddar, tomato and egg layered salad plus its layered garden salad bought on or before 12 June are also being recalled.

Morrisons apologised for any inconvenience caused.
