A MAN from England who had been missing for two days and whose car was spotted in Scotland while his mobile phone was used in Caithness has been found safe and well.

Officers were concerned about 49-year-old Philip Ruane’s state of mind, but sid he has now been found in the Sutherland area.

He was reported missing on Monday night after visiting his parent’s home in St Helens, Merseyside. He was due to return to his home in Ramsey, Cambridgeshire, on Monday.

Police believed he may have been in Scotland after his red Citroen Picasso triggered an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) camera in the Dumfries and Galloway area, along with his mobile phone being used in Thurso, Caithness.
