Mabel to hang up her collar after 14 years
ONE of Blue Peter's longest-serving stars, Mabel the dog, is to retire after 14 years, it was announced yesterday.
The Border collie cross, who was a rescue dog, will retire on 30 March.
Mabel is the second longest-serving dog on the BBC show after Petra, who appeared on the programme for 15 years, until she left in 1977.
