London 2012 Olympics: Record crowds for Saturday special

A RECORD number of people turned out to watch the Olympics on Saturday, according to official figures.

Jackie Brock-Doyle, Locog’s director of communications, said a record 719,000 people watched the Gamesthat day, 92 per cent of London 2012’s capacity. The spectator total is 5.1 million spectators so far.
