Killer asteroid will narrowly miss Earth
A SPACE rock measuring 50 metres, with the destructive power of an H-bomb, will narrowly miss the Earth next year, scientists predict.
Asteroid 2012 DA14 is due to whizz passed the Earth on 15 February, 2013, at a distance of just 24,000 kilometres – closer than many commercial satellites but experts say there is no chance of an impact.
