Ian Brady story row in court
A ROW over a news story about Moors murderer Ian Brady attempting to starve himself has reached High Court.
Journalist Robin Ackroyd has refused calls by Ashworth Hospital, Merseyside, where Brady was being treated at the time, to reveal the story's source.
The Daily Mirror, which published the story in 1999, fought in vain to avoid having to disclose it.
Mr Ackroyd then became the target of the action brought by Mersey Care NHS Trust.
