Government wants gender head count
Companies will be required to disclose the number of women and men within the organisation as a whole, and at senior and board levels, according to draft regulations on narrative reporting newly published by the Government.
The recommendation from Lord Davies’ review Women on Boards was included in the draft regulations announced by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.
Minister of state for Employment Relations and Consumer Affairs Jo Swinson said the draft regulations would improve the quality of narrative reporting by Britain’s largest companies, improve corporate accountability and transparency, and make it easier for shareholders to hold their companies to account.
The regulations, she said, would “restructure the format of corporate reports”.
