Gordon Brown cagey over Alistair Darling future if Labour wins election
GORDON Brown today refused to confirm that Alistair Darling would stay on as Chancellor if Labour win the general election.
He praised Mr Darling as a "brilliant Chancellor" but acknowledged their relationship could be "difficult" at times. While they would continue to work together, he refused to say if it would be as Prime Minister and Chancellor. "You can't expect me to announce such decisions. We've got to get through an election campaign," he said.
