France’s First Lady sues Closer magazine

  • by IAN SPARKS

The gossip magazine that published the photos of the Duchess of Cambridge is also being sued by France’s First Lady for printing pictures of her in a bikini.

Valerie Trierweiler, 47, is demanding £20,000 in damages from Closer for invading her privacy during her holiday.

The president’s partner has
already been awarded £1,500 after the highly unflattering snaps appeared in glossy French magazine VSD.

Closer has branded the First Lady’s demand for compensation “the height of hypocrisy”.

Editor Laurence Pieau has issued a full-page statement attacking Ms Trierweiler - published on the page after its
photos of Kate.
