Flight of fancy

AROUND 2,000 spectators watched as 50 disabled people attempted to pull a 65-ton aircraft into the world record books in the pouring rain yesterday.

The British Disabled Flying Association (BDFA) recruited the 50, seated in manual wheelchairs, to pull the 35m Boeing 757 100 metres along the main runway at Lasham Airfield, near Alton in Hampshire.

The BDFA charity said it will send all the evidence to Guinness World Records on Monday for official confirmation.
