Flat-screen TVs are a menace, warns Rospa

BOOMING sales of flat-screen TVs could cause a rise in accidents at home this Christmas, safety campaigners warned yesterday.

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents said they pose a higher risk of toppling over on children than older versions. RoSPA warned that a spike in sales in the build-up to the digital switchover and World Cup could see a rise in accidents.
