Ex–policeman guilty of rare egg thefts

A FORMER policeman yesterday admitted illegally possessing 650 wild bird eggs collected while he was still a serving officer, the RSPB said.

Michael Upson, 52, pleaded guilty at Norwich Magistrates’ Court to possessing the eggs. Notebooks found at the house documented his egg-collecting trips, including to the Western Isles to steal golden eagle eggs.
