Drug woman appeals death sentence

THE British woman given the death penalty for smuggling more than 10lbs of cocaine into Bali has formally appealed against the sentence.

Lindsay Sandiford, 56, from Gloucestershire, was convicted last week. She says she was forced to carry the drugs by a gang that threatened to hurt her children.

A court official said his office had received the appeal request yesterday.
