Disabled face poor services

TWO out of five disabled people claim to have experienced difficulties accessing goods and services in the past 12 months, according to a new report.

Almost a quarter of disabled people questioned described their experiences as "discriminatory".

The report found that disabled people continued to face issues including poor accessibility, a lack of appropriate facilities in premises and difficulties using public transport.

Guy Parckar of Leonard Cheshire Disability, said:

"The new Equality Act is an opportunity to make sure that the law works better for disabled people."
