David Cameron family swaps Notting Hill for No 10

DAVID Cameron and his family moved into 10 Downing Street yesterday, more than two weeks after he became Prime Minister.

He said he enjoyed a "last breakfast" yesterday morning at the family's west London home.

Before the move he said: "We are moving in today. So we had the last breakfast at home this morning, but I have got quite a lot of other meetings and things I've got to do at the same time."

Downing Street said earlier this week that the Camerons – wife Samantha and their children Nancy, six, and Elwen, four – will move into the flat in Number 10 while work is carried out on the accommodation next door at Number 11 where the family will eventually live.

There has been speculation that the work on No 11 includes an upgraded kitchen, but the Prime Minister's spokesman declined to comment in detail on the work: "There is a maintenance budget and any excess will be paid by the Prime Minister."

Asked if they would be selling the Notting Hill house, Mr Cameron joked: "I certainly won't be renting it to Miss Whiplash if that's what you mean."
