Counting the costs of autism
AUTISM costs the UK almost £28 billion a year, according to research.
Health and social care provision, lost employment, and family expenses are the major costs for the one in 100 people in Scotland affected by the condition.
The lifetime cost to society for one person with the condition is estimated to be 4.7 million.
