Cost of Diana probes hits £12.5m

THE cost of investigating the death of Diana, Princess of Wales has jumped to more than £12.5 million.

New figures show the bill for the Diana inquest now stands at 4.5m, but that figure does not include the hearing's last few days. The Metropolitan Police says it had spent 8m on the inquest and the Operation Paget investigation from 2004 to 2006.
