Conservative - Lib Dem coalition: No cam phones

DAVID Cameron signalled his determination to ensure ministers are fully focused on the job in hand today – by banning mobile phones and Blackberrys from the Cabinet table.

Politicians have become so reliant on electronic communications that even the Commons authorities have had to bow to modernity and allow their use – albeit silently – in the chamber. But the new PM told senior colleagues he would brook no such distraction at meetings – exiling all devices to Number 10 pigeonholes.
