Clarifications and corrections: article “Scottish Fashion Awards: Fish claims awards rigged as daughter didn’t win”
On June 13 The Scotsman published an article headlined “Scottish Fashion Awards: Fish claims awards rigged as daughter didn’t win” which carried reported comments attributed to Derek Dick, also known as Fish.
The article concerned the Scottish Model of the Year title at the Scottish Fashion Awards, in which his daughter, Tara, had been nominated as a contestant.
In the article we said: “Derek Dick had said his daughter had believed that the results had been rigged when fellow singer Annie Lennox’s daughter Tali won the accolade instead”.
Mr Dick has asked us to point out that he said that his daughter had believed the results to be “pre-ordained”, as one of the contestants was a firm favourite, and that neither he nor his daughter at any point used the word “rigged”. We are happy to make this clarification and apologise for any upset caused.
It is the policy of The Scotsman to correct errors as soon as is practicable.
