Civil servants back union candidate

Civil servants have made a “historic” decision to back the idea of a union candidate in general elections to fight the main political parties.

Members of the Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union voted to work with others to stand or support a candidate. The PCS said the decision was a first for a union not affiliated to Labour.
