Campaigners hail porn law

NEW legislation outlawing extreme pornography has been hailed as justice for teacher Jane Longhurst, who was murdered by a man addicted to violent internet porn.

The UK government wants to make possessing images of sexual violence punishable by up to three years in jail.

The move follows a three-year campaign by Jane's mother, Liz Longhurst, backed by MPs and a 50,000-signature petition. Graham Coutts, of Fife, was jailed for life earlier this year for strangling the teacher in March 2003.
