Bully firms face shaming

FIRMS failing to tackle workplace bullying will be named and shamed in 2005, a leading union pledged today.

Amicus said it was changing its policy from not revealing the identities of companies it believed were not dealing adequately with the problem.

A campaign will be launched in the New Year to determine the scale of bullying against workers.

The move comes after a special hotline set up by the union in the summer revealed a "horrendous culture" of abuse against staff at Gatwick and Heathrow Airports.

"We held back from naming firms overlooking their duty of care to their employees in 2004, but next year we will take no prisoners," said a union official.
