Britons' wallets full of unused credit cards

NEARLY half of Britons carry credit cards they have not used in the past 12 months, a study reported today.

A quarter of people have one dormant card while ten per cent have three relegated to the back of their wallets, according to Morgan Stanley.

Those with expired interest-free offers were most likely to go unused.

Cards offering reward schemes were most likely to be used for everyday spending.

About 70 per cent of people with a card earning cashback said they used this most frequently to pay for goods.
