Breast cancer breakthrough

BOOSTED radiotherapy can effectively stop very early breast cancer returning years after surgery, new research suggests.

The treatment should be considered in addition to surgery for patients with cancer precursor cells, experts said.

Doctors analysed the records of 373 women who had conditions that can lead to breast cancer.

The researchers found that the most effective approach was radiotherapy of the whole breast followed by a boost.
