Arrest in Bermuda investment firm inquiry
BERMUDA police are investigating the Emerald Financial Group, an offshore investment company in the wealthy British territory.
An unnamed 45-year-old woman was arrested yesterday morning by officers from the islands' Financial Crime Unit.
Police said the investigation was likely to generate "considerable interest" among Emerald's clients and referred asset-related questions to a local office of the KPMG accounting company. A police spokesman declined to provide further details.
The company was founded in 1992 and provides personalised investment advice for "financially established individuals".
