A-listers turn out for charity car boot sale in London's West End
FAMOUS faces bartered with bargain hunters yesterday at Britain's most glamorous car boot sale.
The Really Really Great Garage Sale, a fund-raising initiative for Mothers4Children, saw some of Britain's biggest celebrities selling off personal items.
An 800-strong queue formed outside Selfridge's car park in Oxford Street, central London, hours before the sale opened.
One of the first items to be sold was a pair of Shirley Bassey's shoes which went for 100.
The 45 stalls were staffed by names including Louise and Jamie Redknapp and Little Britain star David Walliams.
Louise Redknapp revealed that she had donated most of her former England footballer husband's wardrobe.
She said: "My husband's slightly mortified that I'm selling 90 per cent of his suits.
"It's actually hard to part with things. Then I thought, this is going to help a lot of children in difficult periods of their lives."
Style guru Trinny Woodhall drew customers with her sales patter, while Denise van Outen was one of the most gifted car-boot sellers, clearing her stock within hours.
