5,000th couple get engaged on London Eye

JAGAN Rao and Natasha Palmer have become the 5000th couple to get engaged on the London Eye.

As the capsule reached the highest point of the rotation, overlooking the River Thames and with Big Ben in the background, Jagan asked Natasha the question, just as the sun was setting over the capital. The couple, from Marylebone, central London, have been given a complimentary “Cupid’s Capsule” on the date of their proposal every year so they can come back and relive the special occasion. Since the attraction opened in 2000, there have been 5,000 proposals that are known of, 512 weddings and 22 civil partnerships.
