22 Britons donate kidney to stranger
SOME 22 people in the UK have donated a kidney to a stranger, according to the Human Tissue Authority.
New figures show 15 people were approved as altruistic kidney donors in 2008-9, up from ten in 2007-8. Of those, 22 transplants have been carried out. Such donors were first allowed in late 2006
