19th arrest in breach-of-privacy inquiry

A MAN has been arrested as part of an investigation into alleged breaches of privacy, police said.

The 55-year-old was arrested at his East Sussex home at about 7:30am yesterday on suspicion of conspiracy to commit offences under the Computer Misuse Act 1990 and the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000.

The arrest brings to 19 the number of people arrested under Operation Tuleta, a Metropolitan Police investigation into privacy breaches, including the alleged hacking of computers and stolen mobile phones.

The operation is being run in tandem with one looking at alleged phone hacking, and an inquiry into claims of corrupt payments to public officials.
