£2.5 million of cocaine washes up on beaches
Cornwall: Two packages washed up on beaches contained a total of 50kg of cocaine with a street value of £2.5 million, police said today.
The first package was found at Bude on February 7 and consisted of packets wrapped in sacking.
Another package was found on the Lizard Peninsula the following day.
• Tyneside: A teenage girl was today facing trial accused of stabbing a young mother to death in the street.
The 15-year-old is accused of killing 18-year-old Samantha Madgin in Wallsend last year.
