Two officers stabbed over bus ticket check
Two police officers were stabbed after stopping a man to check he had paid his bus fare.
The attack took place at a bus stop in Ealing, London, at about 3pm yesterday. A police constable suffered a slash wound to his throat and a police community support officer suffered stab wounds to his head as he wrestled with the attacker, in his 30s. Both officers remain in hospital in a stable condition. A radio check revealed that the attacker, who was arrested, was wanted for recall to prison.
The officers were part of an operation checking bus tickets.
