Two injured as plane crashes on Mull

Two people have been injured when their aircraft crashed during landing.

The Cessna plane flipped over after its front wheel dug into the ground as it touched down at the Glenforsa airfield on the Isle of Mull.

Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 11:30am yesterday.

Both occupants of the plane were out of the aircraft by the time the emergency services arrived on the scene.

A statement from Strathclyde Fire and Rescue said: “One female and one male were removed prior to arrival of the fire service and are reported to have sustained moderate head and facial injuries.”
