Two in hospital after flats fire

TWO people were taken to hospital today after a fire in a block of flats.

The blaze broke out shortly after 4am in a top-floor flat in a four-storey block in Bingham Way.

A 40-year-old man and 35-year-old woman were led to safety by firefighters.

The pair were treated by paramedics before being taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service said an investigation into the cause of the blaze was under way.
