Two in court over drug addict's death
A MAN and woman appeared in private at Peterhead Sheriff Court yesterday, charged with the murder of drug addict Martyn Stewart, whose body was found at a flat in the town at the weekend.
Mark Junor, 33, and Elaine Young, 23, both of Crimond, Aberdeenshire,
made no plea or declaration and they were remanded in custody for further examination.
It was revealed yesterday that Mr Stewart, 28, had turned to a local church to help him battle his long-standing drug addiction.
Pastor Kath Wyllie, of Peterhead's Kairos Christian Outreach Centre, said he had attended the church regularly to try to "get back on his feet".
She said: "He came along to us for quite some time and we did our best to help him, but we hadn't seen him for a long time.
"He was struggling with addiction … he was really nice man and had really tried."
