TV star Leslie shells out £1.25m for ex-nursing home

FORMER TV presenter John Leslie has reportedly splashed out more than £1.25 million for an old Edinburgh nursing home.

It is claimed the 41-year-old has just bought the former Hermitage Nursing Home for the elderly in the Grange after turning his back on TV to concentrate on the property business.

Edinburgh-born Leslie renovated and sold a nine-bedroom former old people's home in Chiswick, west London, transforming it into a luxury home.

He also upgraded an Edinburgh house for his parents. The former Blue Peter presenter's five-bedroom former home in Richmond, London, is currently under offer with an asking price of 3.95m. He recently sold a Glasgow flat he shared with former Blue Peter host Tim Vincent.

Leslie's long-running showbusiness career hit the rocks in 2002 amid lurid stories about his private life.

After he was sacked from top chat show This Morning, he decided to concentrated on the property market.
