Trump golf course set to get under way

COUNCILLORS are set to back plans for construction work finally to begin on Donald Trump's £750 million golf resort.

The American tycoon has already secured the backing of Aberdeenshire councillors for his overall masterplan for the Menie estate development.

But next Tuesday members of the council's Formartine area committee are expected to give the green light for the start of golf course construction on the spectacular coastal site, where Trump has claimed he will build the "world's greatest" links.

Aberdeenshire Council local planning officer Sonya Galloway has recommended approval of the application.
