Trio charged over robberies

Three people have been arrested and charged in connection with a number of assaults and robberies on the elderly in the capital.

The trio have been charged following a series of incidents involving elderly people in Edinburgh this week.

They include the alleged robbery of an 81-year-old man, in Dalry Road, and a 63-year-old man, in Fountainbridge, last Saturday.

They have also been charged with the attempted robbery of an 86-year-old woman, in Harrison Road, on Thursday.

A woman aged 50 and two men, aged 30 and 22, were to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday.
