Trick or treat? Dr Alkaitis Food Facial
What is it? Exclusive to DollyLeo, this tailored facial uses products from the award-winning Dr Alkaitis range. All the products are made from organic, non-chemical, macrobiotic ingredients that are designed to repair and protect the skin and are, literally, good enough to eat.
Strip off or cover up? Just take your jewellery off then lie back and relax.
How does it work? After a thorough lifestyle questionnaire to establish my skin's needs, my face was cleansed and the enzyme mask applied. The powder was mixed with organic goats' milk yoghurt and honey, and was left on for seven minutes while the therapist gave me a lovely scalp massage. And because the honey melts at skin temperature, it didn't leave me feeling sticky and uncomfortable.
After that was removed with a warm cloth, I was given a facial massage before the application of the cellular repair mask – a finishing treatment designed to calm and rejuvenate. Again, this was mixed with yoghurt and honey and left on for around 15 minutes. While it did its thing, I was given a hand and arm massage and allowed to drift off into a blissful snooze.
After the mask was removed, unlike many traditional facials, I was not left to face the outside world un-made-up. Instead, I was given a mini makeover and walked away feeling human again – and smelling ever so slightly of a nutritious breakfast.
Does it work? There's no question the products feed the skin. I was not left shiny-faced and gleaming; just looking healthy and refreshed.
Who is it for? Supermodels and Hollywood stars, apparently. And anyone else who's concerned about the purity of the products they put on their skin.
How much is it? 75, of which 20 is redeemable against Dr Alkaitis products.
