Tributes pour in for tragic Hollywood star
TRIBUTES from across the globe have been paid to Hollywood actor Heath Ledger who died at his home in Manhattan.
The 28-year-old was found dead with sleeping pills near his naked body in his Soho apartment.
Police said they did not suspect foul play. An autopsy was planned for later today.
Tributes to the Brokeback Mountain actor flooded in from actors and directors as neighbours described him as "sweet" and "a loving father".
Mel Gibson who played Ledger's father in The Patriot, said it was a "tragic loss".
British actor Martin Ballantyne, 35, from Norwich, who met the star while working in this year's summer blockbuster The Dark Knight described the star as a professional figure who was happy to share a joke.
