Tribute paid to Aberdeen crash pupil
A father today paid tribute to his "loving" teenage son who was killed in a car accident.
School student Josh Wilkie, 16, died after the car he was travelling in was in a collision with another in Aberdeenshire yesterday afternoon.
Another passenger, a 16-year-old girl, and the 17-year-old male driver, escaped with minor injuries. The 42-year-old female driver of the other car was uninjured.
Josh, from Insch in Aberdeenshire, had been returning from Huntly, where he was in sixth year at Gordon Schools. He was due to celebrate his 17th birthday later this month.
He was interested in graphic communications and other science and technical-based subjects, and hoped to become an electrical engineer. He was also a member of his school basketball team and a keen guitarist.
Today Josh's father Brian said: "We were very lucky to have him and he will never be forgotten.
"He was a very loving person and was loved by everyone who came into contact with him.
"He had a wide circle of friends who were very important to him and he was very loyal and supportive of them."
Josh is also survived by his mother, Anne, sister Pip, 19, and brother William, 14.
Grampian Police have appealed for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.
It took place just after 3pm on the A96 Huntly to Keith road near the access road to Bin Forest.
