Tribute paid to former Boys’ Brigade president
THE BOYS’ Brigade has paid tribute to former president Craig Richards, who was a member of the Leith Battalion for 75 years.
Mr Richards, a former Edinburgh councillor who was well-known for his trademark bowler hat, died at the age of 101 last week.
He was instrumental in purchasing Chancelot Park with a view to presenting it to the Leith Battalion.
Steve Mitchell, of the ex-members’ association, commented: “His death is a sad loss to the city, even at the noble age of 101 years.”
