Travellers leave booking to last minute
About 5 per cent of holidaymakers booked their summer break just two weeks before departing, a survey showed today.
The survey of 2,035 adults, for Sainsbury's Credit Cards, also revealed that 11 per cent booked their summer break four weeks before departure, while 5 per cent booked a year or more before leaving.
The poll also showed that those taking summer holidays this year put around 5.46 billion of the cost on credit cards - equating to 424.50 per person.
The average time taken to clear the cost was two and a half months but it took 5 per cent more than a year to complete payment.
