Two in hospital after cars crash head-on

Two people have been taken to hospital after two cars collided head-on, the fire service said.
Emergency services were called to the junction of the A68 and A6093 near Dalkeith in Midlothian at 5.50pm.
A woman, 48, had to be cut free from her vehicle before she was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with neck, chest and leg injuries.
A 29-year-old man was also taken to the ERI with minor injuries.
A spokeswoman for the fire service said: “The female casualty, aged 48, was trapped and was removed from her car by firefighters using hydraulic cutting equipment.”
