Traffic delays as burst main causes flood
WATER from a burst main in Broxburn flooded a factory and caused heavy traffic delays.
The fire service attended after gallons of water flooded into East Main Street from the nine-inch pipe.
The water caused severe flooding to a single-storey factory in the street. The building is occupied by Maccess, a company that supplies car parts.
The factory and another building also saw their water supplies cut off temporarily.
The fire service was called at just after 9am yesterday. They sent an officer to inspect the flooding before two appliances were called. They pumped water out of the factory and remained at the scene until 12.20pm.
A spokesman for Scottish Water said the cause of the burst was not yet known.
He added: “Normal supplies were restored as quickly as possible. We apologise for the inconvenience caused by the burst main.”
